World-class research and a vibrant, global student community are at the heart of our School. For over 100 years we have been teaching students in Birmingham who go on to a wide variety of careers. Now, we also reach around the globe with a Joint Institute in China and teaching on the University’s Dubai campus.

Our research is making fundamental advances in areas of theoretical mathematics such as graph theory, harmonic analysis and mathematical physics. And it is changing lives by helping to tackle human trafficking, improving the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and reducing ocean noise pollution.
