I received the postgraduate progression award, which students who are currently in their final year of study at the University of Birmingham are eligible for. This gives you a £1,500 tuition fee discount on your Masters program.

What has been your biggest achievement during your course (personal, professional or academic)?

Being elected a student officer at the student’s union by nearly 2000 votes. In this role I represent the academic interests of all postgraduate students.

Why did you choose your course at the University of Birmingham?

The range of academic specialisms in my subject (politics) and wider support is fantastic. Plus the social life on campus, with hundreds of sports groups and societies, offers the full university experience.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering postgraduate study in your field?

Take up all the opportunities you can! There are so many academic, guest speaker, society and sporting opportunities at the university. Go out there and seize them.

What, for you, are the best things about the course?

The enthusiasm of the lecturers for their specialism. The sense of community in the cohort, and on campus. The huge range of module options to choose from.

What was your motivation for undertaking postgraduate study?

To advance my employability and skills, learning at a highly prestigious institution with a beautiful campus.
